Planting Seeds in Discovery Club

Junior and Senior Infants planted seeds today in Discovery Club.

First we learned all about what happens to a seed under the ground while it is waiting to grow.

Then we watched a video about Sid the Seed.  A little seed who stays under the ground, but when spring time comes all his friends leave him.  He is lonely until he learns what to do...

When we finished watching the video we all planted watercress seeds using bowls and cotton wool.  Watercress is very easy to grow and it doesn't even need to be planted in soil.

Today we took our watercress seeds home and we are going to watch them during mid-term next week to see what happens.  We can't wait to see how well they grow, and to taste how yummy they will be.

If you want to try it at home, why not try growing your watercress in egg-cups and adding a face.  You can have fun watching the hair grow on your egghead.
